Placenta Encapsulation Services
We offer placenta encapsulation to our clients and the community. We have been preparing placentas using the methods of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for many years and have found that clients stand to benefit noticeably from taking this preparation.
What is Placenta Encapsulation?
The Traditional Chinese Medicine method for placenta encapsulation is a fairly simple one. After your delivery, the encapsulators collect your placenta, clean it thoroughly and prepare it for dehydration. After dehydration, we utilize a unique blend of herbs that are added to the dehydrated placenta, that is both adaptogenic, allowing the body to adapt to stress and increase immune function, and aids in energy increase following childbirth.
Most often, one placenta yields approximately 100-200 capsules. You can even store these for future use in a dark, dry area.
What are the Benefits?
Unfortunately, there aren’t substantial studies done on Placentophagy. Instead, most knowledge comes from individual success stories. We are of the opinion that there is never a bad reason to attempt to regulate your hormones and restore your iron levels. Some other benefits include:
- An easier transition postpartum by decreasing the likelihood of mood fluctuations and a decrease in the incidence and/or severity of Postpartum Mood Disorders
- Boosts milk production
- Increases general energy following childbirth
- Allows a quicker return to activity
- Decreases sleep disturbances and insomnia
- Hormone Support
- Replenishes Iron Levels
- Decreases in Postpartum Depression
- Reduction in Post-Natal Bleeding
The fee for placental encapsulation is $200. We are able to, in most cases, pick up your placenta at your birth location if you did not deliver with Wasatch Midwifery + Wellness.
